Abstract:Negritos were an ancient pigmy race once widespread in Southeast Asia and Oceania. The Andaman Negriots faced a problem common to primitive peoples all over the world; the settlers deprived them of land and livlihood, undermined thern society and introduced epidemics that wiped our entire groups. Fewer than 600 of these stone age aborigines now survive in the Adamans, and the author photographer gives a first person account of the tour of the island.
