Abstract:Two paper Records are introduced here. One is a circular of the Fauzdar Adalat of 1852 issued by the Dharwad District Magistrate, and the other issued by the Governor of Bombay, dated 1880, issued from Janjira camp.These records are important to note the administrative teminology of the times, as well as the rules and regulations regarding the methods in booking the accused and their treatment.Very important for judicial and administrative study of the latter part of 19th century British rule on India.
