These are paintings are indeed stunning for you and many others, and also the view that "Showing men, women (and gods) in nude is a honest and most natural way to depict them". But I wonder why Hussain painted his mother and daughter fully clothed. WHy he did not impart same purity to them, and to MOhammad and his wives. If Hussain agrees to paint the mothers of those putting the arguements same as yours, how many would agree to get mothers and daughters painted in nude and put them in exhibitions. by satyanveshee on Oct. 9, 2007 3:22 PM

| And why wait for Hussain, if nudity is pure and honest form of depiction why not do that anyway, with or without Hussain.
We have worshipped divinity, even if it was nude, Jain teerthankaras, shivlingas etc. But otherwise nudity is insulting to us as much as it was to Draupadi. Hussain's painitngs are mockery of Hinduism to hundreds of millions and they would remain so till Hussain paint his own mother, daughter and Prophet and his wives in nude. Once he does that no one will send complaining e mails to you or to Hussain. by satyanveshee on Oct. 9, 2007 3:25 PM
| It is definitely uncivilized, rude and barbaric to do unto others, what one is not willing to do for one's own self. And it is not fundamentalism to point out that. by satyanveshee on Oct. 9, 2007 3:26 PM
